E LEUTHEROMANIA
n. a mania or frantic zeal for freedom.
‟ Any object that could be classified as a weapon is prohibited
within these premises, aside from testing materials used to con
duct research. Attempting to escape from the building will resu
lt in immediate disciplinary action, which can range from an ele
ctric shock to the subject being painlessly executed, in only the
most extreme of cases. Furthermore, all subjects must obey the
staff members, and failure to follow this rule will land the ruleb
reaker inside a heavily monitored chamber for up to a month. ”
*
SIX SUBJECTS who were taken against their will, their
parents guaranteed an irresistible award of exactly fi
ve million dollars, are now adolescents and still part
of the risky experiment. The goal of the project is to
discover the effect of excessive radiation on the hum
an body, and to see if the mutations caused by it will
be beneficial in any way. Of course, exposure to the
chemicals will have its dangers, yet soon after the in
dividuals stepped out of what they now colloquially c
all the radioactive room, signs of never-seen-before
mutations and also abilities began to show up. From
then on, the research continued, and as they became
older, the children wished for a way to leave the labo
ratory and witness everything that happened in a my
sterious place known as the "outdoors". However, the
scientists insisted that such a place did not exist, and
that it was merely a fairy story—a figment of their im
aginations. But why, they wondered, were they punis
hed severely whenever they attempted to go there?
Together, the abnormally enhanced kids grew up as
mistreated, misunderstood lab animals, in a maze of
bleak hallways, and only one courtyard with an artif
icial forest mimicking the outdoors. Today, they are
all pushed to their breaking point, more than they'd
been throughout the years prior. With several tests
a day and an hour in the radioactive room once eve
ry four weeks, it is difficult for them to maintain em
otional stability—their sanity, even. Nobody knows
who they are aside from the scientists, and the sub
jects have no idea if help is on the way. They're all
secrets, poor helpless souls hidden deep in the dark.
